He kisses without consent, slaps his lady love and abuses her parents, chases his maid servant for breaking a glass, warns students that he owns the girl, overdoses on substance abuse and his unfettered testosterone the dehumanisation is sickening. Yet Kabir Singh embodies perhaps the most repugnant excrement of society the embodiment of a man as predatory, uncouth, feral, destructive and the worst misogynist beyond imagination. True that some of Shahid's earlier successful essays were on flawed individuals in Kaminey and in Haider. The vile characterisation of Kabir Singh totally eclipses the other admirable thespians and brilliant performances from all. Yet deeply disturbed that it has come on this abhorrent vehicle. Glad that his moment under the sun has come. Even as I pen this review, "Kabir Singh" is racing towards a Rs 100 crore collection in its fifth day of release and is Shahid's biggest hit ever. I am also a huge fan of Shahid Kapoor and believe that he has been underrated as an actor and fairly unlucky at the box office. I have not seen the original Telegu superhit Arjun Reddy.
